John CraterBorn and raised in Modesto, California, John Crater enjoyed playing multiple sports at the varsity level growing up but fell in love with the game of golf at the early age of seven. He gives his mother credit for introducing him to the game and giving him the opportunity to pursue it.
Outside of golf Crater loves to travel, whether it's around the U.S or backpacking across Europe..."14 countries and 15 states so far...but there's so many new places to see, and new things to experience!" He is also a musician and enjoys playing the saxophone with interest in all styles of music, from jazz to movie themes.
Crater has been working in the golf industry for most of the last decade with experience at the Reserve at Spanos Park in Stockton as well as Spring Creek Country Club in Ripon. While working at Spring Creek, Crater earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business from California State University Stanislaus.
Although having recently moved to the Monterey Peninsula, Crater looks forward to pursuing his golf career in one of the golf capitals of the world and enjoying the lifestyle the Peninsula has to offer. Crater's view of golf is a positive one, "Golf is the greatest game ever played, so go out there and just play YOUR game”.
